We’re not usually ones to write about every discount that pops up, but this one caught our eye. Sim Local just put their Thailand unlimited data eSIM plan on sale and with the discount it comes out to under $10. From our own analysis, that’s pretty unusual pricing for this amount of data in Thailand.

The deal runs until January 31st, which isn’t far off, but you can buy it now and activate it anytime before the end of 2026. So if you’re planning a Thailand trip later this year, you can lock in the price today.

How to get the deal

All you have to do is click the button below to reveal the discount code. It’ll automatically copy to your clipboard so you can paste it at checkout on Sim Local’s site.

If you’re not sure how to use a Sim Local code, we’ve put together a quick step by step guide that walks you through the whole process.

A bit about Sim Local

If you’ve been through an international airport lately, you might just have seen their kiosks around. They sell SIM cards and eSIMs for travelers and have been doing it for years. They cover a lot of countries, Thailand included.

We’ve personally used their eSIMs in 16 Countries (Belgium, Colombia, France, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States). They’ve been solid; not perfect, but reliable enough that when something like this comes up, it is definitely worth mentioning. We gave them 4.3 stars in our full Sim Local review if you want more details.

Why this deal is interesting

To us, it comes down to the numbers…

  • A 25% discount is pretty generous for eSIMs. For this plan, it drops the price to $9.75 for unlimited data over 10 days. That’s less than a dollar per day, not bad going.
  • The plan runs on DTAC, one of Thailand’s big mobile networks, known for its good coverage across the country.
  • Lastly, unlimited data is way more than most people need for a week or two. Maps, messaging, Grab rides, social media, even some video streaming, it all fits comfortably.

Bear in mind, this won’t work for everyone

The 10 day limit is the main thing to watch out for. If you’re staying 3 weeks or a month, you’d need to buy it twice or go with a company that offers longer plans from the start.

Also, if you mostly use hotel WiFi and only need data for occasional maps and WhatsApp, unlimited data is likely going to be far more than you need. A smaller, cheaper plan would make more sense.

If you miss this deal

Like we mentioned, the flash deal ends January 31st, but we also have a permanent discount code (EXPERT25) that gives 25% off all Sim Local plans year round. It’s pretty close to this offer and still brings the Thailand plans down to good prices, so you’re not completely out of luck if you miss this window.

How we test eSIMs

Speed Testing

We run 3 consecutive speed tests using Speedtest by Ookla in the same physical location with at least 3 out of 4 signal bars. If all 3 results fall within roughly a 15% download speed range, we record the highest result. If results vary more than this, we rerun the test to avoid random spikes or drops. This reflects realistic peak performance under stable conditions.

Stability Check

We use the eSIM normally over at least 2 to 3 days and note:

  • Any full signal dropouts
  • Whether reconnections happen automatically
  • Whether any manual intervention is needed

If no issues occur, we state that explicitly.

Real-Life Usage Tests

We test every eSIM with common everyday tasks, including:

  • General web browsing
  • Google Maps loading and navigation
  • WhatsApp messaging and media sending
  • Uploading photos to cloud storage
  • YouTube streaming (HD playback)
  • Hotspot usage where supported, connecting a 2nd device

These checks confirm the connection is usable in real travel scenarios, not just fast in speed tests.

Customer Support Testing

We run quarterly support reviews across all providers using the same questions for each provider. We record and rate:

  • Time to 1st human response
  • Support channel used (live chat, email, WhatsApp)
  • Whether the response is human or automated
  • Whether the issue is resolved in the 1st interaction
  • Overall clarity and usefulness of the reply

Support results shown in reviews reflect the most recent quarterly test.

Devices

We test on:

iPhone 13 Pro Max iPhone 15 Pro Max iPhone 17 Pro Max iPad Pro M2
