We’ll dig into those perks in a bit. But first impressions? Jetpac’s brand voice is loud, playful and unapologetically different. If you’ve come across their ads, you’ll know what we mean…

So, what does Jetpac have to say for themselves?

Is my phone compatible with Jetpac?

Before getting Jetpac, just take a second to double-check your phone’s ready to go:

• You’ll need to be able to download the app from either the App Store (for iPhones) or the Play Store (for Android phones). Jetpac uses its app to buy, install and manage your eSIM plans.

• Your phone absolutely needs to support eSIM, there’s no getting around that one!

• Ideally, you’ll also want Dual SIM capability, so you can keep your regular home number active alongside your Jetpac data plan.

• Your phone will also need to be unlocked, meaning it can connect freely to different networks when you’re overseas.

Firstly, let’s call out one of the small things we love about Jetpac: it’s a single SIM for all regions and all plans setup, that simplifies things a lot and is music to our team’s ears.

What is the Jetpac app like to use?

We’ve been spending quite a bit of quality time with the Jetpac app over the past couple of years, and overall, it delivers a pretty solid user experience. At first glance, it can feel a bit overwhelming with everything packed in: data plans, perks, calls and more all right there in front of you, but you’ll begin to understand it all once you familiarize yourself with the layout. We do like that it tells you exactly which networks and signal you’ll be receiving on your plan too.

The app design sticks closely to Jetpac’s fun and playful branding, featuring a bright colour palette dominated by whites and blues, paired with clean, easy-to-read fonts. It’s vibrant without being distracting. Performance wise, it generally runs smoothly, though we did encounter a bit of lag navigating certain sections, especially the help area. Thankfully, we haven’t experienced any crashes or major bugs so far.

At the bottom of the screen, Jetpac’s app is neatly organized into five main tabs:

• Home: Quick overview of your current eSIM status, featured plans and shortcuts to key areas.

• Packs: Browse and buy data packs by country, region, or globally.

• Travel Perks: Easy access to Jetpac’s perks, subscription plans (JetFlex and JetPro) and referral program.

• Help: Extensive support resources, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides and direct contact via live WhatsApp chat.

• Profile: Manage account settings, payment methods, referral history, AI itinerary planner and rewards.

Perks & features

Where Jetpac really stands out is the number of different perks and features available, and it’s really a double edged sword. While it can be quite confusing to get your head around, these are undoubtedly cool features that we want to use.

Free perks

When you buy a plan, you get:

• Smart Delay: Offers complimentary lounge access if your flight gets delayed an hour or more at over 1100 airports. Just remember to register before your flight, we never do.

• Uber Japan discount: 40% off your first Uber ride in Japan only, up to 2500 JPY. Cool, but does anyone not have an Uber account at this point?

Paid perks

• Lounge Access Pass: From $30 per pass, with Dragon Pass. A standard rate but a cool thing to have access to.

• Fast Track Pass: From $12 per pass, you can use the fast security lane in a range of different airports. This could definitely be worthwhile in the middle of a European summer, but it’s worth noting that this is only available in a small range of airports, mostly in Europe, the UK and China. Nothing in the USA.

All essential tasks can be easily managed within the app: buying new plans, topping up, tracking your data usage and chatting with support. One thing we always appreciate is that Jetpac is a single-install eSIM for all plans: install it once and simply switch countries without needing multiple profiles. This feature is perfect for multi-country trips and it saves us from constant installing and deleting of eSIM profiles. Big marks there!

Payments are straightforward if unexciting, with Jetpac accepting credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Now for some quirks and minor frustrations…

• Jetpac is another of the eSIMs (we’re looking at you Ubigi and GigSky) that occasionally logs you out automatically if it hasn’t been opened for a while, which can be irritating when you just want a quick top-up.

• Additionally, the app interface feels slightly cluttered at first and we found ourselves wishing that Jetpac’s main product, the data plans, had a more prominent placement rather than being somewhat hidden behind the extensive focus on travel perks.

• Finally, we do think the app could be a bit “snappier”, it just feels a little bit slower than usual.

So, while there are definitely some minor issues we’d like to see improved, Jetpac’s app remains reliable, packed with helpful features and very user-friendly once you get familiar with its layout.

What countries can you use Jetpac?

Jetpac offers over 200 country and regional plans, so there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be able to use it on your next trip. As usual, they split their plans into country, regional and global plans:

• Country eSIMs: Ideal if you’re sticking to just one country. These usually offer the lowest cost per GB, giving you the best value overall.

• Regional eSIMs: Perfect for travelers hopping between multiple countries within the same region (e.g. Europe, Asia, etc). They save you from the hassle of switching eSIMs at every border, providing flexibility if you’re note sure exactly how much data you’ll need.

• World eSIMs: Great for frequent travelers or those crossing continents. They offer extensive global coverage but generally come at the highest price.

How much does Jetpac cost?

As you’ll notice in our pricing comparisons, regional and global plans typically come at a higher upfront cost compared to single country plans. While single country plans usually give you the best price per GB, they’re only a good deal if you’re sure you’ll fully use the data. Leaving precious unused data behind can quickly decrease the overall value. If you’re uncertain about data usage or hopping between locations, regional or global plans might give you better flexibility and overall convenience if you do things just right.

2. Validity

There’s no point in choosing a plan that expires before your trip ends and leaves you in a situation where you’ll need to purchase another plan. Fortunately, Jetpac’s data validity is quite generous. Anything above 5GB of data and you’re looking at a full 30 days of plan validity, which is generally above the market which might offer around 15 days. Here’s how their plans generally breakdown…

• 1GB: 4 days validity
• 3GB: 7 days validity
• 5GB and above: 30 days validity

3. Data amount 

This one’s a biggie. Your data allowance will make the biggest difference when it comes to value. The more data you buy, the cheaper each GB gets, so if you know you’ll be streaming, video calling, or using maps a lot, it’s usually worth going for a higher plan to stretch your dollars further.

You’ll save a lot of money on your cost per GB of data if you purchase a higher data plan, just make sure you use it all to get that cheapest possible cost per GB of data!

We’ve said it before: if you can, it’s usually worth going for a bigger data plan. You’ll often get better value and it saves you the hassle (and extra cost) of topping up mid-trip.

Just note that the plan is only valid for 4 days, so try to make the most of your data while it lasts. That said, for a dollar, it’s hardly the end of the world if you don’t use it all.

Here’s how Jetpac’s pricing shapes up across different regions:

• Europe: You’ll likely find 5 or 6 cheaper options, especially for smaller data packages. Jetpac isn’t the cheapest here, but it’s worth comparing at higher data levels.

• Asia: No surprise, Jetpac does well in its home region. You’ll find solid deals across Asia, particularly on plans with larger data allowances. Price per GB tends to get better the more you buy.

• Latin America: This isn’t Jetpac’s strongest region. Plans here are on the pricier side and even though there are a few okay options at 20GB+, we’d probably shop around for better value.

• USA: Surprisingly competitive here. Jetpac offers some great value, especially at 15GB and above. Definitely one to consider if you’re heading Stateside.

• Global: We’re generally not big fans of global plans (they rarely offer the best value), but Jetpac’s options aren’t bad. Think 10GB for $28 or 15GB for $35, which is decent if you’re hopping between countries and want to keep things easy and simple.

What’s clear across the board is this: Jetpac’s pricing gets better the more data you buy, even more so than some other providers we’ve tested, like BNESIM.

Is Jetpac high speed and what is Jetpac’s signal reception like?

Let’s get into the stuff that really matters: signal strength and internet speed. These two can make or break your experience with any eSIM.

The good news? Jetpac has performed well for us in nearly every country we’ve tested. After crunching the numbers and comparing performance across regions, Jetpac consistently ranks in our top 5 fastest eSIMs overall. It holds up really well against the competition, but we haven’t seen it hit the absolute top speeds in any one country just yet.

That said, speed tests are never black and white. There are a bunch of factors that can affect how fast your data feels on the ground:

• 4G vs 5G access: 5G plans are generally faster and more stable, but not every provider offers 5G in every country.

• Your location: Whether you’re in a city, a rural area, or tucked away in the mountains, your signal will vary. That’s true for any provider.

• Network congestion: The number of people using the network around you (especially during peak hours) can slow things down too.

At Travel eSIM Expert, we only review eSIMs we’ve actually used (and not just once). We make sure to test each provider in at least 5 different countries before writing about them. Like we mentioned earlier, we’ve used Jetpac in 7 so far. Here’s how it performed in each one…

The good:

• Speed: Fast at 249 Mbps. Not as ridiculously fast as a few other providers however.
• Signal: Reliable. We’ve traveled extensively throughout Portugal and unless you’re deep in the countryside, the signal is normally very strong. The plan runs on 5G via the NOS network.

• Speed: Fast at 184 Mbps.
• Signal: Very good. We’re yet to have low signal just about anywhere in the UAE and Jetpac is certainly no exception. Signal is up to 5G on the E&/Etisalat network and it’s very likely you’ll have good signal wherever you are.

• Speed: Fast at 174 Mbps
• Signal: Good. We got the best 5G speeds on T-Mobile and enjoyed pretty solid signal for the most part. We tested in various cities including: Houston, New York, Miami, Washington and more.

• Speed: Fast at 150 Mbps
• Signal: Good. Jetpac works on a mixture of 4G and 5G on a number of networks in the UK and the good news is that includes one of our favorites, EE. Signal is generally strong across the board aside from the odd spots or at key times.

• Speed: Average – but third fastest that we’ve tested in Colombia
• Signal: Generally solid, with some rural gaps. Signal in Colombia is mostly reliable, but it can drop in more remote areas, especially in mountainous regions, no matter which network you’re using.

• Speed: Decent
• Signal: Pretty good overall. As you’d expect, signal strength varied depending on location, strong in main towns, but a bit patchier out in those famous rural areas.

The Average

• Speed: A little below average at 66 Mbps.
• Signal: Decent signal, but only 4G and only works on CSL.

So overall, Jetpac really offers a solid service all round, we have got some of the best speeds available in the country tested and never really had many issues with signal dropping as can sometimes occur. We would have no issue recommending them.

Does Jetpac have a loyalty scheme?

No loyalty program (sad face). We always hope that eSIM providers haved have some sort of loyalty scheme, something like cashback, points, or rewards for frequent users. It’s no dealbreaker, but it’d definitely be a nice bonus for travellers who stick with Jetpac regularly. In its place, Jetpac will likely be hoping that the perks offered are a viable replacement, but we would like to see a loyalty scheme as well. Hopefully it’s something they’ll roll out down the line.

We rarely run into major issues with eSIMs while travelling, but when something does go wrong, fast and helpful support makes all the difference — especially when you’re far from home and relying on mobile data.

Jetpac’s customer service is another of its standout features. They’ve clearly put some effort into making help easy to find, offering a solid mix of human support and DIY resources.
